Miles4Minds: Running for Education
Education For All Children (EFAC) is teaming up with Amos Rono - a passionate runner and advocate for wellness - to champion #Miles4Minds, a bold campaign that blends the spirit of human endurance with education.
In Kenya, talent, resilience, and determination shape our athletes: days, weeks, and months of harsh yet rewarding training that lead up to the podium. That’s also the case with most Kenyan school-going children, including Education For EFAC scholars. For many bright but underprivileged students in Kenya, education is a marathon, not a sprint. Their journey to success is filled with obstacles, yet they push forward, fueled by a deep desire to learn, grow, and uplift their communities.
These are bright minds held back by factors beyond their control - families facing financial strain, cultural barriers to learning, and limited access to post-secondary opportunities. Yet, they persist. They top their classes, lead in their communities, and wait patiently and persistently for an open door.
EFAC steps in with more than scholarships. Through our Education-to-Employment program, we walk with these scholars every step of the way - offering mentorship, leadership development, and career guidance to ensure they don’t just graduate but thrive.
Education For All Children (EFAC) is teaming up with Amos Rono - a passionate runner and advocate for wellness - to champion #Miles4Minds, a bold campaign that blends the spirit of human endurance with education. This year, through Miles4Minds, we’re setting out to run a cumulative 2,000 kilometers (approximately 1,240 miles) by the end of June 2025. Since March 2025, Amos has covered most of these and is now tapering before his Comrades Marathon scheduled for 8th June in Durban, South Africa. Behind every mile run is a story of belief—belief in potential, in progress, and the power of collective action.

Every kilometer brings us closer to transforming lives through EFAC’s Education-to-Employment model. With your support, we can turn potential into progress—and ensure these students have the chance to rise, lead, and give back.
In the words of our CEO, John Opiyo:
This is more than just a run. It exhibits passion, generosity, and solidarity that strengthen the fabric of our community and open doors for the next generation. We are grateful that Amos has chosen to fly the EFAC flag and hope that this campaign will unite our supporters and partners around our mission of funding an education that transforms the lives of bright but underprivileged Kenyan youth.
Amos says:
Running has taught me that each finish line is just a new beginning. On June 8th, I’ll cross that line not just as a runner, but as a bridge between possibility and promise.
Join the Race. Change a Life.
